The Sunflower: iMac G4

The iMac G4 is, in my opinion, the peak of hardware industrial design. It’s the "Sunflower"—a machine that looks like it belongs in the house, not just as a tool, but as a piece of decorative art.

Why the G4?

In 2026, everything is a monolithic slab of glass. The G4 has mechanics, it has character. The beautiful chrome arm allows you to move the screen with a single finger, and it stays perfectly in place. It feels like space-age technology—a piece of hardware decades ahead of its time.

The Tiger Experience

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger on this machine. It’s fast, lightweight, and lacks the modern "bloat" of more modern operating systems. It’s a perfect environment for tinkering with older Apple products. If I ever purchase a classic FireWire iPod, this will be the perfect hub for it.
